10K Makes (operated by Steven Dietz) sends SMS messages through Twilio from +1 (844) 714-4416. Messages relate exclusively to optional parent verification of basketball shooting sessions logged inside the app at 10kshots.app.
A coach creates a program and chooses whether parent SMS verification is required. If required, every player who joins the program enters their parent or guardian's mobile number during the join flow:
10kshots.app/j/CODE and enters their name, team, grade, and parent phone number. If the coach has not enabled SMS verification for the program, no parent phone is collected and no messages are sent.
One SMS to the parent each time the player saves a logged session. Sample message:
The link in the message lets the parent approve or deny the session. Approval marks the makes as verified for the leaderboard; denial marks them rejected. No marketing, promotions, or third-party content is ever sent.
Roughly 1–5 messages per active player per day during the summer challenge period (June through August). A typical player logs once or twice a day. Players who don't log generate no messages. Outside the active challenge window, messages are rare or zero.
Reply STOPto any message. Twilio will immediately block further SMS to that number. The player's sessions will still log inside the app, but will not be auto-verified through SMS — the coach can still see them on the roster and standings.
To opt back in, reply START or UNSTOP.
Reply HELP to any message for instructions, or email us at support@10kshots.app.
Standard message and data rates may apply, set by the recipient's mobile carrier. 10K Makes does not charge for SMS.
The parent phone number is used solely to send these verification messages. It is not shared with third parties (other than Twilio, which is required to deliver the SMS). It is not used for marketing or promotions. See our full privacy policy for retention and deletion details.
